Sausage Clip Twisting Machine for Cleaner Downstream Processing
Mirotec completed a project for Brest Meat Processing Plant: an automatic sausage clip twisting machine for sausage sticks before further clip removal, slicing, peeling or packaging.
The solution prepares clips in a controlled way, reduces manual handling and helps keep the product ready for stable downstream processing. This is especially important for sausage production lines where casing integrity, clean clip handling and packaging efficiency directly affect product quality and operating costs.
Project Task
The customer needed a solution that would make clip preparation faster, cleaner and more stable before the next processing stage.
The machine was selected to help solve several production tasks:

Implemented Solution
Mirotec supplied an automatic sausage clip twisting machine designed for work with sausage sticks on smoking racks.
The system twists aluminum clips in a controlled position and prepares the product for the next stage of processing. The machine helps avoid uncontrolled manual clip handling, reduces direct operator contact with the product and supports a more stable production rhythm.
Depending on the line configuration, the equipment can be used before automatic declipping, slicing, peeling, loading or packaging operations.
Economic Effect
In this project, the use of the clip twisting machine helped the customer automate part of the process and reduce packaging-related costs.
Based on the customer’s production example, after implementing the equipment the plant was able to move from PA/PE 250 µm film at €341.06 per 1,000 m to a more economical PA/PE 200 µm film at €272.84 per 1,000 m.
This reduced packaging film cost by approximately 20%. With a shift volume of 10 tons, the estimated saving was around €341 per shift. At 250 production shifts per year, the potential annual saving reached approximately €85,250.
The figures are based on one production case and are provided as an example. The actual economic effect depends on the product, packaging material, line configuration, production volume and operating conditions.
