Sausage Clip Cutting Machine for Cleaner Processing

Mirotec completed a project for ChMPZ Meat Processing Plant: an automatic sausage declipper designed to remove clips from sausage sticks by cutting.
The machine cuts the clip without damaging the casing, helping the customer reduce manual operations, minimize product losses and keep product quality more stable before further processing or packaging.
This type of solution is especially useful for sausage production lines where manual clip removal slows down the process, increases product handling and creates extra risks before slicing, peeling or packaging.

Project Task

The customer needed a more stable and hygienic way to remove clips from sausage sticks before the next production stage.
The project was focused on several practical tasks:
— automate clip removal from sausage sticks
— reduce manual cutting operations
— protect the casing from accidental damage
— minimize product losses during clip removal
— improve process stability before packaging
— reduce operator contact with the product
— support more efficient use of packaging materials

Implemented Solution

Mirotec supplied an automatic sausage declipper with clip cutting technology.
The machine fixes the product in the working area and removes the clip in a controlled way. This helps avoid uncontrolled manual cutting, keeps the casing protected and prepares the sausage stick for further slicing, peeling, loading or packaging.
The equipment can be used as a standalone machine or as part of a larger sausage processing and packaging automation line.

Commercial Effect

The project helped the customer automate a labor-intensive operation and reduce costs related to the packaging process.
In the customer’s production example, after implementing the equipment, the plant was able to move from PA/PE 250 µm film at €341.06 per 1,000 m to a more economical PA/PE 200 µm film at €272.84 per 1,000 m.
This reduced packaging film cost by approximately 20%. With a shift volume of 10 tons, the estimated saving was around €341 per shift. At 250 production shifts per year, the potential annual saving reached approximately €85,250.
The actual economic effect depends on the product, packaging material, line configuration, production volume and operating conditions. For a correct calculation, Mirotec evaluates the customer’s product samples, packaging format and line parameters.
